Johnny Kitties: Celebrating Johnny Depp Film #8 — What’s Eating Gilbert Grape? (1993)
This movie, in which Johnny plays a guy stuck in a small town taking care of his needy family, is etched in my heart and earned Leonardo DiCaprio an Oscar nomination.

Johnny performs fantastic Buster Keaton tricks in this movie about a drifter who falls in love with a mentally challenged woman and has to deal with her overly protective brother.

In this wonderful, strange coming-of-age story about a drifter who is forced to return home for his uncle's wedding, Johnny joined a stellar cast, including Jerry Lewis, Faye Dunaway, and Lili Taylor.

Johnny Kitties: Celebrating Johnny Depp in 21 Jump Street, Season 4 (1989—1990)
This weekly, hour-long drama about young-looking cops who go undercover in high schools to fight crime introduced me to Johnny. By the end of his four-season run with it, he had his eye on a brighter horizon, but having him show up in my living room every week was fantastic while it lasted. I loved this show, so a tribute to each season is included in the Johnny Kitties challenge.
Season 4: Johnny may have been ready to go, but he still put in great performances this season in some of the show's most memorable episodes.
Johnny Kitties: Celebrating Johnny Depp in 21 Jump Street, Season 3 (1988—89)
This weekly, hour-long drama about young-looking cops who go undercover in high schools to fight crime introduced me to Johnny. By the end of his four-season run with it, he had his eye on a brighter horizon, but having him show up in my living room every week was fantastic while it lasted. I loved this show, so a tribute to each season is included in the Johnny Kitties challenge.
Season 3: FOX casts a new heart throb, and the commercials advertising him annoy me. Then, Hanson goes to jail by the end of the season. I wonder how I'll get through the summer.
Johnny Kitties: Celebrating Johnny Depp in 21 Jump Street, Season 2 (1987—88)
This weekly, hour-long drama about young-looking cops who go undercover in high schools to fight crime introduced me to Johnny. By the end of his four-season run with it, he had his eye on a brighter horizon, but having him show up in my living room every week was fantastic while it lasted. I loved this show, so a tribute to each season is included in the Johnny Kitties challenge.
Season 2: This show becomes popular (of course), and Johnny gets onto the cover of TV Guide! He's going places!
Johnny Kitties: Celebrating Johnny Depp in 21 Jump Street, Season 1 (1987)
This weekly, hour-long drama about young-looking cops who go undercover in high schools to fight crime introduced me to Johnny. By the end of his four-season run with it, he had his eye on a brighter horizon, but having him show up in my living room every week was fantastic while it lasted. I loved this show, so a tribute to each season is included in the Johnny Kitties challenge.
Season 1: Meet your local police officers at Jump Street Chapel, but don't tell anyone who they are.
Johnny Kitties: Celebrating Johnny Depp Film #3 — Slow Burn (1986)
In this TV movie, Johnny has three scenes and meets a grisly end — which is disappointing.
Johnny Kitties: Celebrating Johnny Depp Film #1 — A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
In his film debut, Johnny falls asleep, meets Freddy Krueger, and dies. Thanks, teenage daughter of Wes Craven who convinced her dad to cast the "dreamy" guy who auditioned earlier. Good call!
